Past IPL – 2016
The IPL 2016 is popularly abbreviated as VIVO IPL 2016 as Vivo which is the Chinese Smartphone manufacturer has been awarded the title sponsorship for the 2016 and 2017 IPL season.
This is the ninth season of IPL scheduled to create crazy excitement between 9th April and 29 May 2016.
IPL has been in buzz during all eight seasons and this time also it repeats the history as IPL is the biggest cricket league in the world.
IPL 2016 New Face
IPL has the same exuberant vibe rolled up its sleeve even this season. Chennai super kings and Rajasthan Royals who got suspended for two years due to some unknown reasons are now replaced by Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune supergiants playing for Rajkot and Pune respectively.
Intex chose Rajkot as the abode for the team while New rising, a company founded by Sanjiv Goenka chose Pune out of the eight odd shortlisted cities like Chennai, Dharamsala, Indore, Nagpur, Pune, Rajkot, Ranchi, and Visakhapatnam.

IPL9 Promo
Internet and IPL fans are going absolutely gaga for the peppy number, “Pistah” (a song from Tamil Movie ‘Naeram’) which is the promo song of IPL directed by Alphonse Puthren and composed by Rajesh Murugesan. Sung by actor Jagathy Sreekumar, this song has garnered an overwhelming response from the public. The song depicts helium balloons, boats, hundreds of spectators, pompoms, and all that jazz.
The sight seems to be a daily parade at Newyork’s St. Patrick. The floats are wearing the masks of the IPL cricket team players namely Virat Kohli dressed as Superman for The Royal Challengers Bangalore, Shikhar Dhawan and Yuvraj Singh for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indian’s Rohit Sharma and bowler Lasith Malinga, Glen Maxwell from Kings XI Punjab, All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja from the new team Gujarat Lions and Mahi for Pune supergiants.
The song displays all the features of IPL vividly like team flags, folk dancers, cheerleaders, cricket commentators as the bobblehead statues, and the magnificent cup. It is all about the Fans, fun and is indeed fantastic.
Team Coaches & Management IPL 2016
The teams have also made certain changes in the mentoring squad like Delhi Daredevils appointed Rahul Dravid as the mentor of Delhi Daredevils, Paddy Upton as their coach, and Gary Kirsten as the head coach. Virender Sehwag is appointed as the mentor of Kings XI Punjab.
Jacques Kallis who was a batting consultant of Kolkata Knight riders for the 2015 IPL season, replaced Trevor Bayliss and is now appointed as head coach. Anil Kumble withdrew from his post of mentoring Mumbai Indians.
The new team Rising Pune supergiants appointed Stephen Fleming as their head coach, Hrishikesh Kanitkar as an assistant coach, and Eric Simons as their bowling coach. Gujarat Lions appointed Heath Streak as their bowling coach and Brad Hodge as their coach.
IPL is followed by tons of fans and all are all set to witness some great entertainment and thrill this April and May.
