I just learned this exciting option today.

These days we get many memes & quotes in Whatsapp.

If it is an interesting one, we want to get more details about the image – like name of personality in the image, source, photo details, similar images etc.,

Tech people call it ‘Reverse Photo Lookup” or simply ‘Search by Image’.

Here are the simple steps on how to get this done in PC & Mobile.

Google ‘Search By Image’ – Reverse Photo Lookup

Google hasn’t released any specific app to do this yet. But still One can perform perform this image search by using the Internet browser itself.

Here is how its done.

  1. Go to Images.Google.com
  2. Click on Camera Icon in the Search box
  3. Use ‘Paste Image URL’ option, if you have url link for image.
  4. Use ‘Upload an Image’ option to upload image from your PC.
  5. Click Ok.

Now, Google will start to search for images in Internet that match the image that you uploaded.

Click on ‘All sizes’ to see a broad search result.

How to Do Google Reverse Image Search in Mobile

If you browse ‘Images.Google URL in your mobile, the camera icon wont be visible.

Then, how to do reverse photo lookup?

There are 2 options available to overcome this problem.

Option 1:

  • Open Chrome browser in your mobile,
  • Click on Settings
  • Tick the check box “Request desktop site’.

Now, Chrome will open the desktop version of site & you will be able to see the Camera icon to upload image from your Mobile.

If you are using a browser other than Chrome, try to check on how to enable desktop version.

Option 2:

This website uses Google image api to do image search. So, it will get redirect to images.google website once you upload the picture.

Then you will get the matching results for the image that you uploaded.
